About this game

This game and Quebec 1759 moved the idea of hidden set-up to historical battles and wars, and by introducing the element of luck to combat resolution. Instead of stand-up cardboard pieces with fixed values, each piece is a wooden block, with one large side blank (facing the opponent) and the other showing the unit's identity and strength. Strength varies from 1 - 4, and the current value is shown by the number of pips at the top of the piece.

Rules

Players take turns moving a single group of pieces from one point to an adjacent point. When opposing pieces occupy the same point, a battle ensues. Each player rolls a number of dice equal to his strength points, and eliminates an enemy strength point for each roll of a 6. Either side may retreat rather than firing, ending the battle. Otherwise it continues until one side has been eliminated.
