About this game

This game has a deck of 32 letter cards with the letters A, Y, R, M, N and V: 8 each of the vowels and 4 each of the consonants. These letters can form four words: Army, Navy, Many and Vary. The first two are considered "war" words and the other two "diplomacy" words. There also are 17 "war pennants" and 16 "diplomacy or truce flags". These are placed in separate piles, face up, and claimed as the game proceeds. The rules say the game is best played by four, with opposites being partners.

Rules

Dealer passes out 7 cards per player. Player to left of dealer leads a letter. Others must play different letters, resulting in one of the four words Whoever played the first letter gets either a 2-point (truce) or 3-point (war) card. A player unable to make a legal play instead plays any card, which causes the round to "bust", giving no one a point card. Game ends when either the truce or war pile runs out. Player or team with the most points wins.
