About this game

This 2-page spread shows the unfolding of a training game for volunteer officers. The game is played across a large topographical map on a tabletop. Each team receives its orders and makes plans in secret. Orders are transmitted to an umpire, who then carries them out for both sides. The illustrations show everything from decisions on the scenario and battlefield through planning and play.
