About this game
This may be the earliest game in the world about a particular WWI battle of WWI, and shows a military first: an aerial attack on ships in harbor by sea-launched plane. The board shows the Farman seaplanes used in the ground-breaking naval raid on Sept. 5, 1914. Tsingtao was a German enclave in China, and Japan was a British ally in WWI. The graphics are by the artist Kawabata Ryushi, who was considered one of the “Three Big Figures” in the Nihonga style.

Rules
This game is an example of furiwake-sugoroku. Players roll a die at the start to determine which path toward victory they will take. On an even roll, players follow the left path, which focuses on the naval actions. If the first roll is odd, players go right and follow the early land manoeuvers. The two paths join for the final assault.
