About this game

This game about Germany's unexpected and triumphant battle on the Eastern Front is the earliest German game about a battle of WWI. Germany planned to win quickly in the West and had only holding forces in the East. After two defeats, Paul von Hindenburg was pulled out of retirement to take charge, and won a massive victory. The board shows scenes of both battle and of life in the field.

Rules

The game is a simple die-rolling race from the initial patrol by Uhlans (German lancers) toward the climax of the battle in the central space 75. As in most such games, players put money in the pot to start. They then add more money to the pot or win some back as they land on various spaces along the way.
