About this game
This game radiates France’s late 19th century joy at finally finding a friend among the Great Powers, and its determination to avenge its defeat by Germany in 1871. Each square also has a caption consisting of two lines of rhyming verse. Spaces 2 and 3 are devoted to the lost provinces of Lorraine and Alsace. The first has the caption “Hope for imminent sovereign justice, Lorraine,” while the next reads: “The sons of Alsace, to the three colors of France, have pledged their hearts.”
