This is likely the earliest version of the game that became popular as Battleships. It is named after the one major British-German naval battle of WWI. It is a paper game that comes with 20 playing sheets.

Rules

Players secretly place their own ships within a 10 x 10 grid. They then take turns calling out individual squares. If an enemy ship occupies that square, the defender calls "Hit" and the attacker plays again. First to completely eliminate the opposing navy wins.
