About this game

This game offers vivid depictions of trench warfare on the Western Front. The box shows German troops on guard. On the board, French troops throw grenades, a British soldier works a trench mortar, Belgian soldiers defend the remaining sliver of their country and a German machine-gun unit fires toward the enemy. The art is by German impressionist and modernist painter Fritz Neumann.

Roll and Move

Rules

Up to six can play, three Germans and one each French, British and Belgian. The metal playing pieces start on their own or an allied space on the outer ring. Players roll 2D6, moving counter-clockwise until they land exactly on a space with an enemy flag, soldier, airship or plane. This allows movement inward to the next ring. Some spaces cause delay or retreat. Winner is the first to reach the middle.
