About this game

This game shows how the Allies expected the 1940 invasion of France to go. The game acknowledged recent developments in military technology, with both sides having leg and motorized infantry and armor. The board has a web of points joined by lines covering France, Germany, Britain, Belgium, Holland and even Switzerland. The game suggests that the Allies are just as likely to take Berlin as to lose Paris.

Mechanism

Move and Capture

Rules

Each turn, a player rolls a die to see how many units can be moved. Infantry units move only to an adjacent space; motorized infantry by two spaces and armor by three. Successful combat is based on outflanking the enemy. Capturing an enemy piece requires occupying either two adjacent spaces to take an infantry or three adjacent spaces to take armor. The Germans win by capturing Paris and Dover; the Allies by taking Berlin and Munich.
