About this game

This is the original Risk game, invented in France. The mapboard is identical except for the French area names, as are the corresponding reinforcement cards. The only significant difference is that this version has a fixed rather than escalating value for reinforcement sets. It took Miro two years to persuade Parker Bros. to publish the game.

Rules

Players choose or draw starting countries. Each turn they can move armies into an adjacent area and fight any defenders. Players roll one die per piece in the combat, eliminating an enemy on a 6. Rounds of combat continue until one player is eliminated or retreats. Players produce new armies based on the number of areas and complete continents they control. Fights also grant combat cards Sets of the same color or weapon can be turned in for more armies. Last player standing wins.
