This is a turn of the century game on the familiar theme of rising through the military ranks, from Private to Commander in Chief. The central illustration appears to reflect the Spanish-American War, with the right-hand part showing a distinct resemblance to Frederic Remington's 1898 painting "Captain Grimes's Battery Going Up El Poso Hill".
