Theme: WWII Air Training

About this game

A recruitment pitch for the Royal Canadian Air Force, the game was designed by Flt. Lt. O. Cathcart-Jones, and the box featured a portrait of Canadian WWI ace Billy Bishop, who by 1942 had become Air Vice Marshal William A. Bishop, VC, DSO, MC, DFC, head of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. It was approved by the Air Council and stated that all profits would go to the RCAF Benevolent Fund. The board's artwork features vivid images both of air training and air combat.

Rules

After basic training, players at space 15 must choose one of three roles: pilot, gunner or observer. The full track has175 spaces, but the observer and gunner tracks are 18 spaces shorter, sending a message that while pilots get the most prestige, other roles will allow recruits to get into the scrap sooner. Otherwise, all have an equal shot at bombing Berlin, shooting down German planes and returning from the war as heroes.
