About this game
This may be the first wargame to use a “double-blind” system, in which each player has a separate playing board and they face away from one another. The map is of the Indian Ocean, but the opposing countries are not identified. Combined with the fact that the label on the box was placed over top of an image of a German bomber, this suggests wartime design and post-war publication.
Mechanism
Double-Blind Movement
Rules
Players take turns moving secretly, and only give away their potential location by announcing an attack against a specific square. The number of shots per ship and their range and direction varies by the type of ship. However, any announced attack gives some indication of location. The game includes both red metal shell bursts to mark hits and dummy wooden ship counters to plot possible positions. A player wins be eliminating the opposing fleet.
