About this game

This may be the earliest war game with an odds-based combat result table. Each player gets 6 planes, which can be used to bomb enemy objectives or fight enemy planes. Each player has three 10-space objectives. Before play, each player inserts six black anti-aircraft pegs and 10 target pegs into a secret objective card. Players then spin to move, using the outer 2-12 ring for movement and the inner 1-8 for combat. Movement points can be divided as desired between planes and in any direction.

Mechanism

Move and Fight/Bomb

Rules

Players bomb by ending movement on an objective space, scoring a point if it is a target space, and losing a plane if an AA space. Combat occurs whenever enemy planes come adjacent. Each player can count all planes adjacent to the one triggering combat, with total number on each side determining the column on the CRT. Score 1 point per target bombed, 2 points per enemy plane downed, 10 points for eliminating all enemy planes.
