About this game

This complex bombing/air defense game was designed by a Luftwaffe officer and quickly re-issued as Adler Luftwaffenspiel. The map is an overhead featuring targets at both ends, with tracks for fighters and bombers between them. Players get wooden planes, six of each type. They roll a combination of dice for movement, attack and damage control. Bombers must survive fighters, flak and barrage balloons to bomb and return safely.

Mechanism

Move, Bomb and Shoot

Rules

Bombers move with one black die; fighters with up to 3 white dice. A fighter landing on its matching bomber shoots it down. When a bomber is on one of 6 numbered flak spaces, defender rolls a red die, and shoots it down by matching the number. A bomber reaching target rolls a multi-color die that determines damage type. Defender gets to roll that die three times to match and repair the damage. Players get points for shooting down planes, bombing and returning safely. Highest point total wins.
